A New 125,000 SF, two story project for the joint Polk Community College and University of South Florida Polytechnic Campus that Rodda Completed as a Joint Venture partner with Centex Construction. The technologically advanced building includes a large state-of-the-art teaching auditorium, classrooms, computer and science labs, offices and ancillary student support facilities. The facility includes collaborative space elements to encourage the interaction of students, professors, and staff in a multi-disciplinary setting. A key design element is the large interior hallway or atrium that extends up 2½ stories to the roof of the building and the extensive use of glass that fills the center of the building with light. The building was constructed adjacent to the existing campus with no impact to their on-going activities.
