Rodda's Approach to Sustainable Construction

Our goal as a company is to incorporate sustainable design and construction practices into each project while maintaining awareness for the needs, desires and available resources of our clients. Designing, building and occupying a high performance, sustainable building requires knowledge, experience, passion and a commitment from all members of the team. Regardless of whether a project is going for LEED certification or just pursuing sustainable practices, Rodda brings the skills and experience necessary to achieve our client's goals for sustainable, high performing buildings.

Our preconstruction team and LEED Coordinator work with the Designers and Owner from the project’s inception to identify the set of Owner needs for this facility, and to de¬velop not only the LEED credit checklist, but the energy efficiency goals and opportunities specific to this project. Installation of reflective roofing, increased insulation, window shades, and tinted windows are some of the aspects of the building’s shell that will have an energy savings. Selecting the best HVAC and electri¬cal systems, coupled with the use of occupancy sensors, CO sensors and other efficient and convenient technologies can maxi¬mize savings and satisfaction with the building systems.

Rodda Construction is proud to be on the forefront of the Green Building movement in region, and our LEED construction experience can help make any project a success. Jason Rodda, a LEED Accredited Professional, is responsible for all areas of LEED compliance, documentation, and certification. In addition to being a LEED AP, he has attended LEED certification training and conference meetings, and most importantly, has the field experience of completing a LEED certified building. Rodda was called upon by Earthlinked Technologies to complete the first project in Polk County to achieve LEED Certification by the United States Green Building Council. We were honored to be a part of this pioneering project in our area, and have gained invaluable insight into the LEED certification process though the completion of this wildly successful project.

From initial design input, to construction administration, paperwork documentation and submission, field supervision and advanced commissioning, we have the unique experience necessary to successfully complete LEED certified buildings. We have LEED project comparative cost data which has been invaluable in consulting clients as to their wishes to have more environmentally friendly and efficient buildings.
