This major Community Redevelopment Project included demolition of 12 square blocks, and 100,000SF of existing buildings to make way for dozens of new structures. The centerpiece of the project is a new 3-story, 69,000SF, 78-unit, Senior Living Facility. The building includes a library, community space, laundry facility, two elevators, and administration offices. The revitalization also included 126 new multi-family units consisting of 56 separate buildings. The buildings were a mix of seven different floorplans of duplex or quadplex occupancy in a bungalow house style. This project, including all demolition and new infrastructure was completed in one year. Also included was the remodeling of the 6,500SF Emma Smith Community Center Building, and the addition of a lighted playground area.
